Mount View has a Performing Arts Centre that provides the space and features to develop students' performing arts skills to their maximum. The Centre comprises a large space for dance and movement and a further classroom for choral and instrumental tuition.

 

Performing Arts Program

At Mount View Primary School we offer an extensive Performing Arts program,  all classes from Prep to Year 6 are involved in music, dance and drama.

Mount View Primary School has 3 productions each each year: Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5.

Drama Club: Drama club comprises talented Year 3, 4 and 5 students.  Students reherse a play throughout the term and perform the play as a special feature in the evening for all Mount View community members to come and enjoy.

Choir: Mount View Primary School is a group of enthuastic singers from Year 3 to Year 6, each year they sing a repertoire ranging from movie soundtracks to big band jazz numbers.  They perform at assemblies and school concerts.

Dance Club: Dance club is a fun filled dance experience; every Wednesday at lunchtime, students get together to create dances and play dance games and work on an array of dance techniques. Each term a different year level is involved.  Dance club peforms at assemblies and school events.

Band: Mount View Primary School runs two concert bands, Senior concert band has 32 members while the Training band has 18 members.  both bands perform at nemerous  competitions and festivals. The band program is overseen and administered by a teacher who has previous experience in a range of concert bands from Melbourne and Sydney.
